What kind of oil?

Since you asked the question in the automotive section,

I can tell you that it is improbable to figure the equation.

Since most automotive engine oils have a flash temperature of at least 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Meaning that if the oil was at 400 degrees when you lit it on fire, it would only take about 2 seconds to go 6 feet.

On the other hand if the oil was -20 degrees Fahrenheit you would be able to dowse boxes upon boxes of matches in it and it would never light on fire.
a long time. Pennzoil10w30 has a flash point of 415 degrees Fahrenheit, an autoignition of greater than 800 degrees Fahrenheit. And is classified as a : Class III-B combustible. so with that said , you would need a very hot flame to first ignite the oil, then you would need a chair to wait for that flame to travel the 6 feet.
oil is hard to burn, in fact I dont think oil itself will actually go up in flames.
won't get there.
