Putting cold oil on an oil fire?

A debate started at work today whether, in an oil based fire, would putting cold oil on the fire put it out? Silly question maybe but it needs settling.Putting cold oil on an oil fire?
Mt guess is flooding the fire of say a five gallon spill, with 200 gallons of oil at 20 degrees F would do it. It would have to be that large a difference in heat transfer to do it.Putting cold oil on an oil fire?
Intuitively it sounds like a bad idea. You probably won't smother all the hot oil and then the cold oil will become hot oil...

I'd try it in a controlled environment.
it would make things worse
