How did Red Addair put out all those Kuwait oil rig fires?

He didn't! It was mostly done by some guys out of Red Derr Alberta who extinguished more fires than anybody else. I believe they may have been with FireMasters.

Fires are put out in a number of ways but mostly by snuffing out the Oxygen to any fire by using explosives at the wellhead. Once the heat is gone, the ';liquid'; stream can be more easily handled and new wellhead equipment can be installed. How did Red Addair put out all those Kuwait oil rig fires?
His crew blew them out. They used explosives such as Nitro. The small bombs were lowed over the burning well on long poles flooded with thousands of gallon of water, once in place they were detonated. I got to meet Red Addair and his crew at the Boat races in Austin Texas back in 1966.
Are you sure it was Red Addair, if so he must be about 120 years of age by now!
