I saw a movie as a child (70's?) where some prison inmates used dynamite to blow up an oil rig fire.?

It is NOT THE one with John Wayne; I've seen that one several times. The prisoners drove three trucks with leaky dynomite (nitroglycerine) crates that were packed into sand in the bed of the trucks. I remember the trucks having to drive across a rickety old rope and wood bridge. I guess prisoners were used because they didn't care if they were killed. The dynomite was to be used to blow up a huge oil rig fire. I used to think it was called ';Damnation Alley'; but that is a totally different movie.
