Can I replace an Oil fired boiler with a natural gas one?

I have gas in the house, and the oil boiler is very old. Is it possible to change heat types? I want the new setup to vent out thru a ventilation pipe so I can close the old unlined chimney.

And can I do it for less than $6000?Can I replace an Oil fired boiler with a natural gas one?
Depending on were you are the 6k should get it done, they may need to line the chimney and still vent thru itCan I replace an Oil fired boiler with a natural gas one?
If you have Natural Gas in the home, replacing the boiler is certainly possible. Most new high-efficiency boilers on the market are Direct-Vent or Power-Vent which allows the exhaust to be vented through standard gauge PVC piping. This will save you a considerable amount of money as lining a chimney is not cheap! As far as the $6000 is concerned, it's a matter of where you live, the size of the boiler, the condition of the existing plumbing and expansion tank. But all in all you should be able to get away with an installation anywhere from 4,000 to 8,000. The key is to find an installer that you're comfortable with, that you trust. It's always a good idea to ask any installer for references.

Good Luck!
Yes, should be between $4000-$5000.00 on average.
