You don't say whether the boiler temp or domestic hot water. Heres how to do either. .......(.domestic Hot water) ..Look for the aqua-stat. It should show different temperature setting. Unscrew the cover and turn the dial to a lower setting. Usually 150 is fine. If it gets too cold then turn it back up to 160. It is probably on 170 or 180 if it's too hot. Don't touch the limit control for the furnace. That one will have two settings. one for high and one for the lower temp. The aqua-stat controls the domestic hot water while the Limit control controls the heat in the boiler. Take a trip to Lowes/Home Depot and see what they have for boilers and ask about the limit and aqua-stat controls. This way you can see the difference. If you just want to lower the water temp on the domestic hot water and have a tankless you should look to see where the hot water exits the burner. You will see a mixing valve with a black knob. On the knob you will see increase or lower. The valve mixes more or less cold water into the hot water pipes.I have a burnham oil fired boiler. How do i lower the hot water temp.?
do itI have a burnham oil fired boiler. How do i lower the hot water temp.?
Take the plastic cover off of the t-stat controls, it is located on the front of the boiler on the outside. Once you remove the cover inside you will find 2 dials 1 for the high setting and 1 for the low setting, the high will tell the burner when to stop heating the water and the low will tell it when to come on. In other words it will keep the water temp in that range, pick what is comfortable for your needs. Hope I helped I have the same boiler and I usually adjust it in the spring and late fall, hotter in winter, cooler in summer.
