It will only spread the fire.Please comment on the wisdom of extinguishing an oil fire with water.. :)?
Wise man once said, ';Never pour water on flaming oil or flaming oil will pour on you.';
Putting water on an oil fire is very dumb. The water would simply splatter the burning oil and create a bigger fire.
You need to use either a CO2 extinguisher or something that puts down a layer of foam on top of the oil.

No you don't use water on a oil fire.
If it is in the kitchen and you don't have a extinguisher use flour, if your out side use sand or dirt
Never use water all that will do is spread the fire out.
