Good question for your local fire department. How can i prevent a fire in my attic? Cause the wood that hav used in the trusses of the attic is oil treated.?
Are you sure the oil is flammable? If it's not petroleum based it might not be.

If it is, then you'd need to cover it with something fireproof- maybe wrapping it in fiberglass insulation sheets. They make a spray on fireproofing for commercial buildings but it would be expensive and in the attic it might affect the way your house ventilates. But if it's lasted 35 years with no problem, I wouldn't get too upset about it. Make sure if there are any electrical circuits up there that the wiring is in good shape, a fire alarm system with a smoke detector mounted in the attic and the smoke detectors connected together might give you peace of mind. And you might even be able to install a sprinkler system for fire supression in the attic- it would be expensive, but would be the most fool proof.
Why are you so concerned about a fire in the attic? If the roof system has been there for 35 years I would say that's a pretty good track record. No bugs , no fire leave well enough alone!
